I have been on the South Beach Diet for two weeks now. Some of you may be familiar with this diet, but if you are not I will fill you in on the details. During the first two weeks of the diet you can not have any carbs or sugar...there goes the entirety of my normal diet! The first week was not horrible. Having eggs every morning and nuts as a snack was still new, but then came week two.
By the middle of the second week I became an angry egg hating nut loathing monster. Then came the start of the new phase of the diet (this is were the heavens open up and a chorus of angels sings!). Today is the day I can finally have bread! The bread has to be whole grain, but still bread nonetheless. So Reid and I went to Panera and I ordered a sandwich. That whole grain bread was magical. That sandwich tasted as good as the first shower felt after having Noah. An almost out of body experience.

6 months
Today Noah had his 6 month doctor's appointment. He was all smiles and the nurse had a tough time getting his vitals due to his determination to eat her stethoscope and name badge. Noah also thought it was necessary to rip the paper on the table he was laying on. By the time the doctor came into the room most of the paper lay in a pile completely torn to shreds.

Gift
This last fall I created a "Fall Noah" book from the amazing pictures taken by Photos By Vitella. From that book I was inspired with a great (or at least in my opinion) gift idea for Noah's grandparents.
I decided that instead of getting pictures taken of Noah every 3 months his first year of life I would have them taken every season. I then created a book of photos so Noah's grandparents can enjoy the "Seasons of Noah".

Baby Talk
Most of my good friends have children. There were many situations when we would sit around and my friends would talk about what there kiddos were up to. People love to talk about their children. Anytime, any place is fair game for kid talk. Now don't get me wrong, my friends' children are great and I love hearing about their milestone and activities, but when you don't have a child it is really easy to find oneself not being able to contribute to the conversation. Every once and a while I would try to chime in with, "Well Maggie (my dog) did this yesterday...", but for some reason people do not like their children grouped in with a dog :).
I did not understand the love of talking about your child or children with others...after having Noah I get it. I am now part of this awesome club of "baby talkers".
I love talking about Noah's development. He is the strongest most genius baby that has ever been born and I love sharing that with people. The other day when I was checking out at Target and I was buying some baby items and the Target employee asked me if I had a child...boy did she open a gate of conversation! I informed her of the newest love of my life and how he is completely amazing in every way. The employee listened to my ramblings with a smile on her face and then proceeded to tell me about her grandchildren. She gets it too. She is also a member of the Baby Talkers Club.

Handprint
"Every day I am exploring, touching everything I have found.
I leave behind my little marks and handprints all around.
You clean up those handprints, but someday when I'm grown
you will wish you had just one handprint to keep for your own.
I made this handprint for you so that one day when I am tall
you'll remember what my hand looked like long ago when I was small."
Noah made this at daycare and he gave it to us for Christmas this year. While reading this poem I was completely reduced to puddles. I love that chubby little hand print so much. I tried to dry my tears as best I could because I had to run to Walgreens to pick up some pictures. While driving there I thought again of his handprint and tears welled up in my eyes. The lady at the Walgreens photo center noticed my tear stained face and asked me if everything was ok . I replied with a smile, "Yes everything is ok. I just got a really special "hand"made Christmas present from my son."
